Catallaxy is back on deck (again)
… I realize people are going to start calling us Lazarus soon, but if it’s any consolation it’s because we’re getting more popular by the day.

Catallaxy Files- Evaluating Rudd’s Fiscal Stimulus February 11, 2012I am just giving you a sneak preview of my piece in the Inquirer section of The Australian today. You will all have to run up to the newsagency or go on-line to read it. No doubt, it will make me popular with parts of the blogosphere! Gosh, at least Alesina’s paper was published in [...]Judith Sloan
- Should the RBA intervene to lower the Australian dollar? February 10, 2012I had this piece in The Australian during the week. I became interested in the topic during my visit to Switzerland. I conclude that the RBA will not, and probably should not, intervene but it is an interesting topic. The value of the Australian dollar is putting many of our trade-exposed industries under real pressure. [...]Judith Sloan

- Amnesty on truth February 10, 2012I’m ashamed to admit I was a member of Amnesty International in high school. Back then I proudly wore an Amnesty badge on a black beret. Now I cringe at the memory of my naive self lapping up their hyperbole. The Sydney Morning Herald recently reported that Amnesty International is urging a parliamentary human rights watchdog to investigate the federal gover […]Sara Hudson
- More on PHI rebate means test February 10, 2012When I wrote in Incise yesterday, ‘Rebate should not be means tested,’ I did not expect events to move quite as quickly as they have. The government seems confident it has the numbers to get the means test through. I wouldn’t be surprised if Rob Oakshott and Andrew Wilkie have indeed swallowed the government’s nonsensical arguments, but it will be interestin […]Robert Carling

Laxarus? Catallaxy has been up and down more times than a brides’ nightie.
And still down 1..2..3..4..
yep, the new server goes down on you more times than a …
Skepticlawyer, the only posts you put on this blog are about catallaxy. Don’t get me wrong — we all love Jason & friends. But it would be great to see something on current affairs, public policy or libertarian ideas too.
Can’t get onto catallaxy at all to comment, keeps claiming to send me out a password, but no show.
brendan
I just read this, about to email you out a new password
Sorry, John, but most of the reason for this is technical. I can’t comment! I can put posts up, but I can’t comment on any WordPress blog anywhere. Akismet keeps treating me as spam, both from work and at home. This happens even when I’ve logged in as admin on this blog.
After I’ve written this comment I will once again have to go and fish it out of the spaminator. Catallaxy doesn’t use akismet, which means I can participate in free-flowing discussion there. So far I’ve had to email people at three blogs and get them to dig my comments out of the trash. Every single comment I’ve put up here for the last week has gone straight to the spam bucket – which then involves going and digging it out. Until I’ve trained akismet not to treat me as spam, then I’m not really in a position to put up proper posts.
Once Lazallaxy is back up JH could make numerous posts like “we’re back!” thereby blowing out bandwidth and melting server forcing lazy catalaxians back to thinking about freedom.
So, um, the last time I could access catallaxy was at about 4.30 this morning (don’t ask). Down again??
Yep, down again, Sinc. I’ve been inundated with mail all day and trying to work out what the problem is, but it’s a bit difficult from Rockhampton! Sorry about that.
Bit like the toothless man bobbing for apples, bin down so many times…I know I know, if it was so easy you could do better and quit yer bellyackin…
We haven’t been able to get onto c8to, who does all our technical stuff. I’m just hoping he hasn’t decided to take a 4 day weekend or something.
It’s back, folks. Sorry about that.
