HannahJ, this is just a pre-amble. I don’t know if they are legally binding.
We need to be aware of the dangers of separating intentions and deeds.
For instance, the US Declaration of Independence is separate from the Articles of Federation. The Declaration is considered the Founding Document. Imagine how much harder it would be for Congress to water down individual rights if the Articles had been combined with the Declaration at the start! That’s the way for a libertarian nation to go- Declaration and Constitution in one Founding document!

The origin of this is American and it has been modified for local consumption. For some reason Americans insist on using the word “liberal” to mean something that it doesn’t mean anywhere else.

I understand Article IV, referring to charity, is true when applied to Americans. I don’t think it is accurate when referring to Australians. Charity and philanthropy are substantially reduced in a welfare state.

Despite that, the sentiments are brilliant.

Love it. Though the lefties will scream ‘racist’ at articles X & XI. The fact that one of the randomly-generated related links is called “National Socialism in Australia Today” doesn’t help

In true libertarian spirit I would re-write article X slightly:

This is an English speaking country. You can speak whatever language you like here, but if you don’t learn English don’t expect anyone to understand you, and don’t expect the government to give you free interpreters.
